The Magician’s Elephant
Art direction. The premise for the look of the film was to create a cinematic experience of an illustrated storybook, turning the story into a fable about hope, a fairy tale where anything can happen. The style draws from the liberties and abstractions of traditional media: lost and found, suggested detail, imperfect lines, all with the goal of reconstructing a world through an artist’s point of view rather than a photographic portrait.
